Student Centered Learning
TPS subscribes to the belief in the importance of Rigor, Relevance, and Relationships in education. Teachers are expected to have and communicate high expectations of their students in order to provide a challenging program that will prepare students for post-secondary success. Classes should incorporate higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and authentic tasks to help students make connections between the knowledge and skills being taught and real-world applications. Schools and classrooms strive to provide a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment to create optimal conditions for learning. This site contains resources on strategies for improving school climate and learner engagement.
