Torringford Elementary School is an existing one story facility of about 62,600 gross square feet. It was constructed in 1950 and additions were made in 1969 and 1988. Construction consists primarily of load bearing interior and exterior walls with cast in place concrete floor and wood frame construction.

1987 - 1988 Torringford School received the Excellence in Education Award. The flag and plaque were presented to Jack Dunne, Principal, Nellie Crowston, 3rd Grade Teacher, and Louis Esparo, Superintendent of Schools, in Washington, D.C. on September 14 & 15, 1988.
Torringford Elementary School had ten relocatable classrooms attached to a core builing in 1989. The core building has seventeen classrooms spaces, some of which are smaller spaces lused for specialized/supportive learning programs.
