In February it happened! We are now in our new location at 800 Charles Street. The Library Media Center is spacious and beautifully decorated with a separate reading area for the students. The computer lab is just around the corner making integration of technology an easy step while as student research. Our middle school students who return to visit do not recognize the fact that basketball was played in this same space just last year.
Author Visits 2006

Diane Roberts, author of Nutmeg nominee book, Made You Look, shared her craft and hosted the Connecticut quiz with our third, fourth, and fifth grade students. Her second book, Puppets Pandemonium, will soon be released.
Mark Kimball Moulton, author of A Snowman Named Just Bob and many other titles, visited with the kindergarten, first and second grades. He read, answered many questions and spoke of the editing process. Students had listened to the works of both authors and were given the opportunity to purchase signed books when they visit.

May - The 2006 Annual Scholastic Book Fair was a success. > Parents, brothers, sistesr, and grandparents came to see our new Library Media space and purchase books and other items. All the money raised from our single annual fundraiser will be used to purchase additional books for fill the expansive space in our media center.
"Bucks for Books," a successful fundraiser coordinated by Student Senate with the help of Mrs. Wadhams and Mr. Marchand raised enough money to add more than 100 new fiction and non-fiction books to our collection. We will be ordering these books to have them ready for display by the fall with bookplates thanking each of the grades.
