Poetry-Live
All 7th grade students from Torrington Middle School will participate in Project Poetry-Live where there are opportunities for poetry writing, web site disign, visual art workshops, set design, music and dance. This inter-disciplinary program is supported through a grant from Litchfield Performing Arts and Education Connection. T.M.S. students work along with 7th grade students from Watertown, Waterbury, Thomaston, Litchfield, Wamogo and Winsted.
Our students will work with noted artists such as jazz musician Don Braden, set designer/artist Manny Vega, Earl Mosley's Diversity of Dance, as well as published poets, visual arists and musicians from our community. Students can sign up for various workshops throughout the year.
The final performance at Naugatuck Valley Community College is a culmination of art, music and dance, all inspired from the original poetry written by our students. Students will also view a professional dance/music performance. The experiences will last a lifetime! To view Poetry-Live web page, go to www.litchfieldjazzfest.com. It is listed under programs.
