The mission of the Student Services Department is to support the educational goals of the district by serving students who are at-risk, either academically, socially, or emotionally. We believe that all students can be successful, and are committed to providing a positive educational experience by addressing individual needs. Our emphasis is on providing specialized instructional and related services to focus on individual student strengths, rather than limitations.
A full range of educational services, including guidance, psychology, nursing, speech, special education, and Section 504 accommodations, are available. Some services, such as guidance and nursing, are provided to all students in our schools; others are provided to meet specific educational needs, as determined by recommendations from the Planning and Placement Team. Decisions regarding each child’s educational program are made through the collaboration of parents and professional educators through the team evaluation process. The categories on the left side of this page describe in detail the different types of programming available in our district.
Parents who feel that their child may require additional support are encouraged to contact either the child’s school or the Student Services Office at 489-2327.
