Please join us for Torrington Middle School's WORLD LANGUAGE NIGHT: Thursday, May 19th, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30PM in the TMS Cafeteria. We will be celebrating all things WORLD LANGUAGE at TMS! Students of Spanish, Italian and French are working to present information on a wide range of cultural topics. There will be food and music. It is a wonderful event where students, parents and families can come together to celebrate diversity and the commitment to cultural appreciation at Torrington Middle School.

We hope to see you there!   ¡A celebrar! Festeggiamo! Célébrons!

Welcome to the Torrington Middle School World Language Webpage!

The goal of the TMS World Language Department is to encourgage students to embark on a life long journey of language learning, fostering an appreciation for a culture different from one's own and respecting different and diverse world views.

The WORLD LANGUAGE PROGRAM is for students in grades six, seven and eight who meet academic requirements. It is designed to give students an exposure to French, Spanish and Italian.

Currently TMS offers a year-long advanced course for 8th graders in all three languages based teacher reccomendation, academic performance in grades 6 and 7, and adminstrator approval.

The World Language Deparment organizes and holds an annual World Language Night in the spring which celebrates all three languages that are offered at TMS. The evening includes foods, music, activities and above all a chance for students and parents to socialize together.
