Our language program is designed to meet the needs and abilities of the middle school student by providing him or her with opportunities to develop and expand the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

The Torrington Middle School World Language program consists of a two-year study of a selected language: Level 1A in seventh grade and Level 1b in eighth grade. Successful participation and achievement in the combined seventh and eighth grade programs is equivalent to the first -year high school course. At the high school, students may continue with Level II of their current language or elect Level I of French, Italian, Spanish, Latin or German to fulfill their world language requirement.

Nota Bene ((Please note)): MOST COLLEGES REQUIRE ATLEAST 3-4 YEARS OF CONTINUOUS FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDY!
