...are the means to our goals. Strategies declare how our school orgainzation intends to acquire and display resources to support the attainment of our goals.

...are the boundaries within which Torrington Public Schools pursue this strategic plan.

1. Continuously improve student performance.

  • We will strengthen, align and regularly assess all Pre-K through 12 curricula so that it is seamless, promotes academic rigor, nurtures talents, and reflects diversity. 

1. The Torrington Public Schools will organize for results and hold themselves accountable to all stakeholders. 

2. Attract, develop and retain the "best and brightest" indivduals who reflects the diversity of our community.

  • We will perpetuate a culture of learning that assures a physically and emotionally safe environment that is based on district-wide standards. 

2. Student success will be demonstrated by multiple measures of achievement. 

3. Ensure safe, stimulating and welcoming school environments.

  • We will actualize school, family and community partnerships that engage all facets of the community in improving the quaity of student learning experiences and in assisting in the achievement of the mission and goals of the strategic plan. 

3. The empowerment of a dedicated, caring and competent staff and the active engagement of all stakeholders are essential to achieve our shared goals.

4. Enhance and expand community connections.

  • We will develop long-term human resource practices that are competitive, creative and recognize exemplary contributions to the organization's effectiveness. 

5. Utilize all resources effectively and efficiently.

  • We will reframe our organizational structure, as appropriate, to meet the changing needs of the system and for the realization of the strategic plan.
