Teacher Evaluation and Professional Development

The TPS Teacher Plan for Professional Growth and Teacher Competencies stresses the importance of continuous learning, feedback and reflection on teacher performance.  The plan incorporates SMART goals designed to set targets for improving student performance and stress teacher efficacy--the ability of each teacher to make a positive difference in the achievement of students.  The plan also allows teachers to reflect on their performance through the use of the Connecticut Common Core of Teaching.  This site contains the Teacher Evaluation Plan document, including process and forms utilized.
Professional development is designed to support school and district initiatives and provide ongoing training and support over the course of the year on a specific theme selected by the schools' professional development committees.  The site contains proposed school-level professional development maps for the year.
