Joseph Kulesza
I was elected to the Board of Education as a new member in November 2025. I was
born and raised in Torrington and have gone through all levels of Torrington Public
Schools, and now my wife Elisabeth and I are raising our daughter here as well.
I am a graduate of Mount Saint Mary College with a BA in History and Public Relations.
My background is in construction management, specifically with water utilities. I am
currently employed by the Connecticut Water Company as a Project Coordinator where
we build water treatment plants, pump stations, booster stations, etc. My goal is to
bring my knowledge of managing complex projects and budgets to the Torrington school
system to make a positive impact on our students, staff, and community.
“I am proud to serve as a new member of the Torrington Board of Education and to give
back to the community that has shaped my life. During my time in school, I was involved
in multiple sports and a member of the band; experiences that helped teach me
teamwork, discipline and dedication. The education and opportunities I received in
Torrington schools provided the foundation for where I am today. Now, as I raise my
daughter in the same town that raised me, I am committed to supporting our schools
and ensuring that all students have access to the strong educational experiences that
Torrington has to offer.”
In my spare time you can find me hanging out with my family and friends, watching
sports, playing a round of golf, watching stand-up comedy or listening to podcasts.
